WELCOME

Happy Summer!

Well, with temps over 100, it’s summer in the desert, even tho elsewhere summer doesn’t begin til June 20.

More news about my books: my publisher, Karen Mueller Bryson of Short on Time Books and her husband are retiring. I’ve been with them since my first book, Fade Out, was published in 2016, and it’s been a wonderful relationship. That means my titles will be reverting to me, and it comes at a great time: just as I’m ready to publish a new novel in a new series. I wish them all the best in their retirement, and thank them for more than 9 great years!

That means my to-do list for the summer includes: buying new ISBNs for ebook, print and audiobook versions of all my books and novellas; changing the logo from SOTB to Change It Up Press; revising the narrations for the copyright pages in all formats; and much more!

Thanks to Sandy Vernon Gates, who did a great job proofing my latest manuscript, “Raw Image.” It’s book #1 in a new series called “Behind the Lens” mysteries about a tough freelance television journalist and videographer who covers major crimes and traumatic events, and does her best to expose sex traffickers. “TJ Banks” is kind of a badass women and is great fun to write. My goal is to launch it in fall 2025 with the help of book shepher Ann Videan. My great graphics go-to guy, Tad Smith, is working on the cover as we speak.

I’ll be contacting everyone who won the opportunity to get their name in this book! There are a number of you, considering I’ve been working on this since 2022.

While you’re waiting, if you need a good beach read this summer, please consider my crime fiction mystery series “Behind the Mic Mysteries.” In addition to full length novels of “Fade Out,” “Dead Air” and “Bleeder,” there are also two novellas “Equalizer” and “Deadly Misfire,” all on Amazon.

My audio books for “Fade Out” and “Dead Air” are in transition from SOTB, but “Bleeder” is available on Audible and Amazon. In addition, “Bleeder” is available in other platforms, including Spotify, Libro.fm, Barnes & Noble, Nook and more. “Fade Out” and “Dead Air” will also be available on those additional platforms in 2025. My son, audio production engineer Devon J. Hancock, handled all the editing and mastering duties, as well as adding sound effects and original music (www.DevonJHancock.com) All covers by Tad Smith of The Design Idea.
